The Accounts Payable Specialist is primarily responsible for all work associated with processing invoices for payment to vendors, expense reporting, and sales/use tax submissions.
• Prepare invoices received by mail for high-resolution scanning.
• Perform image evaluation and quality assurance for all invoices.
• Verify accuracy of the information picked up by the OCR engine for all invoices.
• Review invoices for proper taxation of goods and services.
• Review invoices for duplicate receipt for processing.
• Act as a liaison to branches and suppliers to field questions and requests.
• Maintain complete and accurate listing of outstanding liability for inventory received but not yet vouchered at any point in time.
• Support month end closing process through auditing and reconciliation. • Maintain accounts payable files. • Other tasks and duties as required by the needs of the business or Shared Services Manager and/or Supervisor.

Job Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers and suppliers
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• 5+ years of AP experience preferred
• Experience with AnyDoc/OnBase or PeopleSoft preferred • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook, 10 key by touch)
• Must be able to handle a high volume of work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to learn and use relevant internal applications
• Ability to adapt to changes in processes
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
• High School Diploma. Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Position consists of general office duties including sitting, standing, walking, filing, and typing.
