Summary: Performs various task in the packing department involving packing, weighing, and labeling of products for distributors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Set up machines for packaging and adjust for whatever product is being packaged. Change dies, films, and labels. Set up and adjust slicing machine for whatever product is being sliced. • Keep product at required work stations for other workers to package. • Place product in boxes, weigh, place labels, tape, and stack on pallets for shipping. • Carry pallets of product to area designated to load on trailer for transfer to building B. • Strip casings from sausage and place in slicer for patties. • Place loaves in slicer for slicing. • Run meat through cuber for cubed steak and cubed pork. • Clean up after shift is over. • Disassemble and assemble equipment for sanitation. • Learn and retain thorough knowledge of packaging processes and use of equipment. • Perform all duties accurately and efficiently. • Work safely under all conditions and procedures. • Follow policies, rules, regulations, and procedures. • Ensure quality of products is maintained. • Verifies correct label, weight, and date information on products that you are working with. • Report any process or equipment problems to supervisor. • Responsible for housekeeping, cleanliness, and sanitary conditions within the department. • Report work related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisor. • Receive incoming materials and supplies to the manufacturing facility. • Responsible for proper set up, scanning of manufactured items, and troubleshooting of X-Ray machine. • Learn & retain knowledge of X-Ray machine for shipping manufactured goods.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
