Position Summary and Responsibilities:

The Warehouse Mid-shift Dry position’s primary responsibility is to ensure that inbound product is inspected for damage, counted, sorted, and grouped by item description before it is received into our facility. The midshift employee will be responsible for transporting the inbound product to it’s appropriate slotting location for storage.

  ·         Sorts and places product in racks or shelves according to predetermined slot assignment and rotates product to               ensure "First In-First Out".

·         Utilize Radio Frequency (RF) equipment to track all product movement.

·         Opens and closes boxes, bales, and other containers.

·         Operates forklift, pallet jack, or hand trucks to move product from one location to another.

·         Load and stack product on pallets in such a manner that the load is stable and product is secure to prevent damage.

·         Assists in warehouse sanitation and cleaning.

·         Receive trucks on an as needed basis.

·         Inspect received product for damage and verifies counts against PO.

·         Maintain the dock clear of excessive pallets and clean from debris.

·         Properly inspect product when received to ensure product is in good condition.

·         Transports items to proper destination.

·         Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must be able to speak English fluently.

·         Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to make change quickly.

·         Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

·         Some basic knowledge of computers and warehousing preferred.

·         High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Some related experience preferred.
